About me
Hello, My name is Derek,
I have worked in the field of counseling for approximately 17 years helping adults, teens, and married couples. I have helped various individuals work through certain concerns such as depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder issues, attention deficit disorder, anxiety, and dual diagnosis issues. Subsequently, I have also worked with various people groups like military personnel, first responders, professional athletes, secret service members, and foster care clients. I also have significant experience in working with individuals and families struggling with addiction and anger issues too. I utilize cognitive behavioral techniques along with a Socratic method style to help engage my client's in a purposeful and empathetic dialogue. Lastly, I am a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary with a Master's degree in Biblical Counseling. I am also a former resident of Colorado and I have a great love of the outdoors. I also enjoy all things related to martial arts and I love playing most contact sports too!
